Every Meal Is an Opportunity to Brighten Someone’s Day.

As a Dietary Aide at JAG Healthcare, you’ll help provide residents with nutritious meals and a welcoming dining experience that supports their health, comfort, and well-being. Whether you’re preparing dining areas, serving meals, or assisting with cleanup, your work plays an important role in helping residents feel cared for every day.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Prepare & Serve Meals

Assist with meal preparation, portioning, plating, and serving nutritious meals while following dietary guidelines and food safety standards.

Create a Positive Dining Experience

Help make mealtimes enjoyable by serving residents with kindness, patience, and respect while providing excellent customer service.

Maintain a Clean Kitchen

Keep the kitchen, dining areas, dishes, and equipment clean and sanitized to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Follow Dietary Needs

Work with the Culinary team to help ensure residents receive meals that meet their individual dietary requirements and preferences.

Support Residents at Mealtime

Help create a positive dining experience by serving meals with kindness and assisting residents who need extra support during mealtimes.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
  • Previous food service, dietary, restaurant, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout your shift
  • Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention guidelines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing excellent resident service

Dietary Aides assist with meal preparation, serving meals, setting up and cleaning dining areas, washing dishes, and helping provide residents with a positive dining experience.

Yes! Dietary Aides interact with residents every day by serving meals, providing friendly service, and, when needed, assisting residents who require extra support during mealtimes. Your kindness and compassion help make every meal a positive experience.

Not typically. As a Dietary Aide, your primary responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation, serving meals, maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area, and supporting residents during mealtimes. Depending on the facility and your experience, you may assist with simple food preparation, but the majority of cooking is handled by our cooks.

Dietary Aides typically work full-time or part-time first and second shifts, helping prepare and serve meals during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Shift availability may vary by location, and we’ll work with you to find a schedule that fits your availability whenever possible.
