As a Physical Therapist Assistant at JAG Healthcare, you’ll help residents improve their strength, mobility, balance, and independence. Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you’ll carry out personalized treatment plans designed to help each resident reach meaningful goals.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in Ohio
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting is preferred but not required
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to follow individualized treatment plans and provide safe, effective care
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including assisting residents with exercises, mobility, and transfers
- Dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing resident-centered care
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary team

A Physical Therapist Assistant works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to carry out individualized treatment plans. PTAs help residents complete exercises and therapeutic activities designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, endurance, and independence.
Previous experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care is helpful, but it may not be required for every position. We welcome qualified candidates who are eager to learn and passionate about helping residents achieve their goals.
You may work with residents recovering from surgery, illness, injury, hospitalization, or changes in mobility. You may also support long-term care residents who are working to maintain their strength, safety, and independence.
Yes. Our therapy professionals collaborate with nursing, physicians, social services, activities, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to support each resident’s overall care and recovery.
The Physical Therapist evaluates each resident and develops the treatment plan. As the Physical Therapist Assistant, you’ll carry out the assigned treatments, monitor the resident’s response, document progress, and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist.
Schedules vary by facility and current staffing needs. Depending on the opening, full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities may be available.
Yes. Physical Therapist Assistants spend much of the day moving between residents, demonstrating exercises, and assisting with mobility and transfers. The role requires the ability to safely meet its physical demands.
